The Breaking Barriers Fund
Since our founding over 40 years ago, it has been our mission to provide our services to as many people as possible, regardless of their ability to pay. Our Breaking Barriers Fund was established to ensure that any financial barriers to participation were broken and that we continue to serve a diverse community of people.
Although all of our students participate under a globally-subsidized tuition system and pay a greatly-reduced tuition rate, there are some who come from low-income households who still require additional scholarship support. By way of illustration, in 2019, the tuition our participants paid made up less than 15% of our total revenue, and nearly 36% of our students were granted additional scholarship support.
Equine assisted services and therapeutic riding are considered “alternative” therapies for people with disabilities, and as such, are not covered by insurance. Halleck Creek Ranch does not receive any reimbursement from health insurance carriers for our services, nor do we receive any state or federal funding support. Your contribution to this fund will help ensure no one is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.
