Horse Skills Program

Halleck Creek Ranch is excited to announce the launch of our new Equine-Assisted Services Program, “Horse Skills.” Horse Skills is an unmounted program designed as a fun, hands-on experience working with horses. Students will have the opportunity to connect with horses and other people in small groups while learning functional, social and motor skills that help build confidence in a supportive, fun environment.

Our team is made up of experienced professionals dedicated to facilitating meaningful educational experiences between individuals and horses. Through a combination of unmounted activities, we guide participants in exploring themes such as communication, trust, assertiveness, and mindfulness.  Horses, with their innate desire to connect and their ability to mirror our emotions provide excellent partners for exploring these themes and the benefits of unmounted work are comparable to those offered by riding: increased strength and fitness, improved proprioception and balance, increased communication and self-awareness.

Horse Skills offers a range of customizable programs tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of diverse individuals and groups.   It is appropriate for all ages and can be taken as preparation for riding, as accompaniment to riding or as a standalone program.

The availability varies, so please contact Maya Stessin at to learn more.
